On August 19, 2024, North East Medical College and Hospital’s Department of Gynaecology & Obstetrics hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminar on “Obstetrical Anal Sphincter Injuries (OASI) during Vaginal Delivery.”
Dr. Salman Ahmed, Assistant Registrar in the Department of Gynaecology & Obstetrics, served as the keynote speaker. The seminar focused on ensuring a healthy postpartum phase for mothers, emphasizing perineal care and adherence to proper guidelines following a vaginal delivery.
Professor Dr. Nahid Elora, Head of the Department, graced the event as the chief guest. The expert panel included Professor Dr. Rabeya Begum, Professor Dr. Jakia Jahan, Associate Professor Dr. Nasreen Chowdhury, Assistant Professors Dr. Bilkis Elora, Dr. Sayera Begum Chowdhury, and Dr. Tahmina Begum Poly, along with Residential Surgeons Dr. Tahmina Chowdhury and Dr. Fatima Tuz Johura.
Also in attendance were Registrar Dr. Muntasir Alam Rahimi (AD), Dr. Mumina Khan, Dr. Rayma Begum, Dr. Jakera Wahid Eva, as well as all CA’s, IMO’s, and intern doctors.
